Description

NGC 1360, also known as the Robin's Egg Nebula, is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Fornax around 1,500 light-years away. Its' shape and colour are reminiscent of a blue robin's egg. It radiates most strongly in OIII and then HA but was almost invisible in SII.
Two clear nights with excellent seeing in succession after almost 8 weeks of cloud and rain made this a real treat and given the moon  phase, a well placed object of decent size, which I found in my favourite object hunting tool, Stellarium.
